5 Things You Can Post on Social Media This Week Without Overthinking It

You didn't get into home inspection because you love posting on Facebook. You got into it because you're good at finding problems and helping people make smart decisions about one of the biggest purchases of their lives.

But here's the deal. The inspectors who consistently get calls aren't always the best inspectors in town. They're the ones people see. That's what social media does. It keeps you visible. And it's way easier than you think.

Here are five posts you can put up this week. No fancy graphics. No marketing degree required. Just grab your phone and go.

Post an interesting find from a recent inspection.

You see wild stuff every day that most people never think about. A corroded pipe. A panel that hasn't been updated since the '80s. A critter living somewhere it shouldn't be. Take a photo (obviously nothing that identifies the client or the property), write a quick line like "Found this gem today..." and post it. People love behind-the-scenes content. It's real and it's interesting. These kinds of posts tend to get the most engagement because they feel authentic — not like an ad.

Share a quick homeowner tip.

Think seasonal. "Freezing temps on the way — here are a couple things to check before it hits." Or "Spring's coming. Now's a good time to take a look at your gutters." You already know this stuff inside and out. You're just reminding people. And every time you share something useful, you're positioning yourself as the go-to expert without having to say "hire me."

Screenshot a Google review.

If a client left you a nice review, use it. Screenshot it, post it, and write something simple like "Makes the early mornings worth it" or "This is why I do what I do." That's it. You don't have to write a paragraph. The review does the talking for you. Social proof is one of the most powerful tools you've got, and it takes about 30 seconds to post.

Introduce yourself.

This one feels a little uncomfortable for most people, but it works. Post a photo of yourself — at a home inspection, by your truck, wherever — and tell people who you are and why you got into this business. People hire people they feel like they know. A realtor scrolling through their feed is more likely to recommend the inspector they feel connected to. Let them see the person behind the business.

Share something going on in real estate in your area.

An article about housing market trends. A tip about what buyers are looking for right now. Even just a comment about what you're seeing in your local market. It doesn't have to be anything you wrote — sharing a relevant article with a line or two of your own thoughts is plenty. It shows you're engaged and paying attention to the bigger picture.

That's five posts. You could knock them out in 20 minutes on a Sunday night and be set for the whole week. Nobody's expecting perfection. They're just expecting you to show up. The inspectors who post regularly — even just a few times a week — stay top of mind. The ones who don't? They get forgotten. It's that simple.

And if you didn't know — you can post to all your social media accounts directly from your Wix dashboard with just a few clicks: Wix Social Media Tools article.
